Responsibilities


  • Execute end-to-end special education processes and case management, including Child Find and Maintenance of Effort, and protocols to ensure scholars receive services that are in full compliance and effective per local, state, and federal law and school board policies.
  • Execute end-to-end program case management for English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services, 504 plans, and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes to ensure scholars receive services to support academic success.
  • Execute end-to-end processes and case management for the Early Intervention (EIP) Program, the Remedial Education (REP) Program, and the Talented and Gifted (TAG) Programs to ensure scholars receive services to support academic success.
  • Ensure all Special Education documentation (IEPs, initial and triennial evaluations, progress reports, attendance, etc.) is in 100% compliance at all times with services and timelines.
  • Remain current on rules outlined in special education law and regulations.
  • Remain current on rules outlined in state board and district policies related to ESOL services and 504 plans.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation on scholar participation and progress through progress reports, report cards, and assessment files for special education, 504, ESOL, RTI processes, EIP, REP, and TAG programming in all platforms such as PowerSchool, Illuminate, and GO-IEP.
  • Partner with families, scholars, teachers, and administration regarding all aspects of special education, 504 plans, ESOL services, RTI, EIP, REP, and TAG programs.
  • Partner with vendors to support special education services and evaluation, intervention, acceleration, and TAG programming.
  • Support data management and compliance with the Georgia Department of Education and federal program reporting within the Student Information System and other required platforms for Post-secondary Transitions, PreSchool Outcomes, Post-School Outcomes, Timelines, FTE, and Student Records.
  • Prepare for, schedule, and facilitate all meetings for special education, 504 plans, ESOL services, RTI, EIP, REP, and TAG programs.
  • Ensure all instructional and testing accommodations are implemented as outlined in scholar IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Administer all state and district-mandated assessments (WIDA Screener, WIDA ACCESS, GKIDS 2.0, Georgia Milestones, and Dyslexia Screener, etc.).
  • Administer formative and summative assessments as required (Quizzes, Interim Assessments, STEP, NWEA MAP, etc.).
  • Use scholar data and Individualized Education Plans to internalize and execute lesson plans with fidelity and create reteach plans as needed.
  • Provide remedial, accelerated, and differentiated instruction in 1-1, push-in, small group, and collaborative models in alignment with Resurgence Hall Instructional Frameworks and as required by all programming inclusive of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a culture of joy and urgency with high expectations for all scholars through the implementation of school-wide culture systems including fidelity to the behavior management cycle, incentives, logical consequences, and logging into DeansList.
  • Continuously develop instructional expertise by deeply engaging in weekly professional development and 1-1 coaching.
  • Communicate daily with all families regarding scholar academic and social/emotional progress through school-based applications (apps), phone, and email.
  • Build deep relationships with scholars, families, and staff to foster a culture of joy and community.
  • Lead and support schoolwide and grade/content level initiatives such as Parent University Nights, Spread the Love Week, Black History Month, 100th Day of School, and Awards Ceremony.
  • Support school-wide initiatives such as weekend recruitment events, evening parent workshops, and other events with advanced notice outside of regular work week and hours.
  • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Specialist or Manager of Scholar Supports.



Qualifications/Certification

All candidates must have a Bachelors degree; a Masters degree is a plus.

Prior Experience

All candidates must have a track record of strong project and time management skills, attention to detail, and deliver consistent and timely results while juggling multiple priorities. Sense of humility, urgency, and strong ability to proactively solve problems. Demonstrates organizational, computer (Google Suite - Word, PPT, Excel), project management, data management and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
