SEO Manager

Houston, TX

We're hiring an SEO Manager for our client, a retail electricity provider, to be a key driver of residential customer acquisition and sales growth through a combination of traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven optimization strategies. This role will own the development and execution of a comprehensive SEO roadmap, partnering closely with external agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure all initiatives are aligned with business objectives, performance targets, and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Own, develop, and execute a comprehensive organic search strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders and external agency teams, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Provide strategic oversight and performance management of agency partners, driving accountability through clear KPIs, regular evaluations, and continuous optimization.
  • Design and implement strategies to maximize brand and non-brand visibility, improve page rankings, and increase qualified conversions across both traditional organic search and emerging AI-driven search environments.
  • Lead content strategy and development, partnering with agencies to deliver relevant, high-quality, optimized content that engages target audiences and enhances digital visibility across websites, blogs, and social platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 7+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5+ years of SEO experience
  • Proven success driving organic search leads and sales growth in recurring service models and/or eCommerce
  • Experience conducting competitive research, technical audits, and content gap analyses
  • Strong knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data from SEO KPIs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other reporting sources to drive actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience partnering with creative services to develop compelling, results-driven content.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead strategy and execute hands-on programs
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Agency-side and agency management experience strongly preferred
  • Google Analytics certification a plus
