Logistics Manager

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Logistics Manager to join our dynamic team. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the logistics operations and inventory management, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

The successful candidate will manage a team of professionals, coordinate with vendors and transportation providers, and implement strategies to optimize operations and minimize costs. The Logistics Manager will play a critical role in meeting customer demands, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The Role

 

As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Effectively managing inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing holding costs and stockouts.
  • Monitoring and optimizing transportation routes, modes, and costs to ensure cost-effective and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Leading and managing a team of logistics personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with vendors, assist procurement in negotiating contracts, and continually evaluate vendor performance.
  • Identifying opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings and implement appropriate measures to achieve them.
  • Overseeing compliance with transportation and safety regulations and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Utilizing logistics software and systems to track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and proactively implement relevant changes to optimize logistics operations.
  • Contributing to inventory and logistic tool selection and implementation

 

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years of experience in logistics management or a similar role.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of supply chain principles, procurement, transportation, customs clearance, incoterms
  • Knowledge of warehousing, distribution, stock management
  • Strong knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records related to logistics and transportation, including shipping documents, customs documentation, invoices, and other relevant records
  • Effectively manage global shipping strategies including staying current with changing customs regulations
  • Manage a small team of logistics coordinators to coordinate and manage logistics operations, including arranging transportation, maintaining portal accounts, tracking shipments, verifying delivery against an order, recording goods received.
  • Ensuring on-time delivery of products
  • Global Inventory Management: Ability to timely and accurately manage and track inventory, including maintaining accurate records of stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and optimizing inventory levels to minimize costs while meeting stakeholder demands.
  • Manage and update a routing guide and take ownership of the logistics strategy.
  • Work in conjunction with Procurement to manage logistics suppliers and assist in sourcing activities.
  • Assure quality of received hardware products and equipment, implementing policies of goods inspections on receipt and coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues or discrepancies.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders & procurement in order to execute stock replenishment and manage material availability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, and the ability to adapt to new technologies and tools. Eg. Oracle Netsuite, Alvys, others
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
