Job Description – Hot Mill Operator
General Duties:
- Support and Learn the Functions of the Melt Deck, Floor or Caster Line as needed
- Work with Ladleman to build and use Ladles and eventually molten metal crane
- Inventory and Quality Checks of Materials prior to charging furnaces
- Assist and learn how to Build Ladles, Tundishes and Furnaces
- Operate Furnaces, VOD and Caster
- Work the Ingot Pouring Line
- Work the Caster Shear Line
- Build and Install Caster Molds
- Perform a variety of duties around molten and/or hot metal
- Perform a variety of duties that require excellent mechanical aptitude
- The ability to stay focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
