As a CareDriver, you will be responsible for safely and reliably transporting students to and from their destinations. You will become a vital part of the student’s daily routine, ensuring they reach their destinations safely and on time.
Responsibilities
• Safely transport children to and from various destinations, following a predetermined schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within your vehicle.
• Adhere to all HopSkipDrive policies and regulatory requirements.
CareDriver Qualifications
To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
• Have 5 or more years of caregiving experience, with at least 2 years of experience in childcare.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Be at least 23 years old.
• Maintain a good driving record.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Own or lease a vehicle that has 4 doors and is not more than 10 years old.
Certification Process
Before becoming a certified CareDriver, you must complete the following steps:
• Click on Quick Apply button.
• Sign up on the HopSkipDrive website.
• Submit the required documents.
• Complete a virtual orientation.
• Pass multi-agency background checks, including:
◦ Driving record check
◦ TrustLine registry (only in California)
◦ Social security trace
◦ National and county criminal records check
◦ Sex offender check
◦ Child Abuse & Neglect Screening (CANS)
◦ Participate in a live certification call.
The certification process takes between 25 to 60 days, depending on regulatory requirements in your state and the speed of completing each step.
Vehicle Requirements
Your vehicle must:
• Be no more than 10 years old.
• Have a current registration and pass an annual inspection by a certified mechanic.
• Meet all applicable state department of motor vehicle requirements.
• Be in good operating condition with four doors and the capacity to seat 4 to 7 passengers.
Compensation
• Welcome Guarantee Promotion: Earn up to $50 per ride during our Welcome Guarantee promotion, guaranteeing $500 for 10 completed rides within the first 14 days post-certification.
• Competitive Earnings: Your earnings will vary based on several factors, including the metropolitan area, ride volume, and your availability. Earnings comprise a base fare plus additional payment for longer or more time-consuming trips, with opportunities for additional earnings.
